NABCOTECH reiterates commitment to technological innovations, creativity
Nation-Builders College of Technology (NABCOTECH) Asaba, a fast growing tertiary educational institution, has reiterated her commitment to producing graduates with technological innovations and creativity, which are basics for self independence and self employment.
Speaking to news men in a press conference held at the main campus of the college, on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, the Rector, Dr. Chukwuma Anuku, assured that the students who graduate from the institution would be more marketable and more competent than graduates from other higher institution, especially in the sphere of managerial and entrepreneurial skills.
‘’Our focus here, is on creativity, which to me, is the introduction of substance from the abstract. As well as innovation which is the application of an already existing idea. You hardly find anybody teaching creativity in Nigeria’s present tertiary system. NABCOTECH, Asaba, wants to be the pacesetter in that area’’ he said.
Anuku, opined that developed countries across the world, were able to achieve their economic buoyancy by merging theoretical concepts and practicals. He noted that the institution will not loose interest in the spirit of entrepreneur.
Speaking earlier, the Registrar, Engr. (Mrs) Stella Emecheta, disclosed that the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) had already approved three programmes including Computer Hardware Technology, Hospitality Management Technology and Multi-Media Technology, in their last accreditation exercise/visit to the college.
‘It was recently upgraded to a College of Technology as an Innovation for Enterprise Institute (IEI) with a license to operate from the NBTE,’ she said.
According to her, entry requirements include a minimum of five credits with English Language and Mathematics inclusive at not more than two sittings; and a score of not below 100.
She projected that in the next 10 years, all things being equal, NABCOTECH would be upgraded to a full-fledged university as envisioned by the governing council of the institution.
Gladnews, reports that NABCOTECH is a faith-based institution of higher learning, founded in 2018 by the Women and Children's Department, Christ Holy Church International.
Initially a skill acquisition centre, the institution has graduated over 150 students in her 3-6 months certificate courses.
